About Che

Che is an Ambassador and role model for his people this role has been fostered from a successful career in Football. It was in Cairns where Che began playing football with the Cairns City Cobras Australian Football Club. He moved to Adelaide with his family and whilst at school signed up with the Port Adelaide Magpies, where his skills, pace and dedication to the game were noticed. Che debuted with Essendon Football Club in 1994 as a 17 year old and over time developed into an exceptional football player and mentor for his people. In 1998 Che was drafted to the Port Adelaide Power Football Club.

In 2003 he was retired by the football club and took up an opportunity to work with State Government in the development and advancement of Aboriginal Communities. Che continued to contribute to the football league and blended this with his community work. He announced his retirement from the National Football League in February 2006.

Che is a dedicated and committed family man who blends both his love and achievements in sport and his commitment to Community advancement to make a difference for his people. From a government level Che has over some time provided advice to the South Australian Premier on Aboriginal affairs and in particular the promotion of Aboriginal rights.
